Philadelphia Theatre Company’s Board of Directors is doubling down on their support of PTC’s new Artistic Team.

Taibi Magar and Tyler Dobrowsky are committed to furthering PTC as a vital civic institution dedicated to art-making, life-long learning, and community engagement. Using theatre as a catalyst, they aim to bring the people of Philadelphia together to connect, create, and reflect on the important issues and ideas of our time. Their vision includes a revitalized and vibrant education program, long-term mutually-beneficial community partnerships, and support of our city’s artists.

PTC’s Board of Directors asks you to join them to raise up Taibi and Tyler’s vision for the future. All new and increased gifts will be matched by the Board 2-1 up to $50,000. Double the impact of your giving, help us raise $150,000, and support PTC’s exciting next chapter.

Help welcome Taibi and Tyler into our community and support their inspiring and inclusive artistic leadership. Give now to support this dynamic duo!

Philadelphia Theatre Company’s 2023-24 Season will feature four productions representing some of our most exciting theatre-makers.

More details on our upcoming season will be announced May 17th, until then, here is what you can expect from next season:
  • A fantastic new musical co-directed by Tyler and Taibi, and written by an Obie Award-winning artist (see it at PTC before it makes its debut in New York just a few weeks later),
  • A world premiere play by one of the country’s hottest young playwrights,
  • A Pulitzer Prize-winning play recently seen on Broadway,
  • A contemporary American classic by a giant in American theatre and a long-time friend of PTC.

PTC is committed to bringing dynamic theatre education programs to Philadelphia students, consisting of:

Student Matinees

Workshops & Residencies

Summer Camps

Free student matinee performances for every one of our mainstage shows, allowing students the opportunity to see high-quality live theatre. PTC will provide educators with fun, informative study guides about the shows and engage students in post-show workshops where the students will reflect on the themes of the play.

In-school or after-School workshops designed to cover a range of theatre-related skills conducted within the Philadelphia Public School system.

PTC will launch theatre summer camps in the summer of 2024 for students of all ages. Each week-long program will focus on theatre skills such as scene study, improv, playwriting, and culminate in a showcase, where students can share the skills they learned at camp.

PTC aims to build community and connect people by creating extraordinary works of art.

Community Events

Be on the lookout for a free public art event on Broad Street this September, as PTC – in collaboration with other excellent local arts organizations – brings a celebrated international artist to Philadelphia!

Affinity Nights

Affinity Nights invite audience members belonging to a particular affinity group (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, etc.) to attend a production as part of an audience composed of primarily affinity group members.

Creating Space

PTC is expanding its footprint in the Suzanne Roberts Theatre with a new second space for productions, cabarets, community events, and educational programming. Stay tuned to learn more soon!
