Wilderness Generation
James Ijames has written an extraordinary new work that provides an intimate look into how different generations reckon with and redefine their relationships to family, homeownership, and the nostalgia of youth before technology. These events provide an intimate sneak peek into the creative process (Free Library of Philadelphia), the ways in which family traditions shape our values (Makuu: The Black Cultural Center), Philadelphia’s relationship to homeownership and jazz (Temple University), and how we can preserve our own family memories (The African American Museum of Philadelphia). Whether engaging in a scrapbooking workshop, story circle, or listening deeply, I hope you will feel inspired and excited to engage in conversation.
