Frequently Asked Questions

Philadelphia Theatre Company’s Phone-Free Policy

At LIBERATION, we invite you to experience live theatre the way it was meant to be shared—fully present. To support this experience, all phones and smart devices will be secured in Yondr pouches for the duration of the performance.
We know you may have questions about how the process works, what to expect, and how to access your phone if needed. We’ve answered the most common questions below so you can arrive with confidence and enjoy an immersive, distraction-free performance.

To protect the privacy of our performers and create a distraction-free theatre experience, LIBERATION is a phone-free production. Upon arrival, your phone and any other smart devices will be secured in a Yondr pouch, which will remain with you throughout the performance. The pouch will be unlocked at the end of the show.

The auditorium is a phone-free space.

Before the performance begins, you may use your phone in the lobby, elevator, restrooms, and box office. Once the performance has started, if you need to access your phone during intermission, or at any other time, you will need to exit the building, where a staff member can unlock your Yondr pouch.

Yes. You will keep your phone with you at all times.

Your device will simply be secured inside a locked Yondr pouch until the end of the performance, or until you choose to leave the building.

If you are using your personal device for open captioning or audio description services, our Front of House team will provide a camera cover for your device, or you may borrow one of our accessible devices for the performance.

Upon arrival, please stop by the box office to receive a printed seat pass. This will help our Front of House team assist you after your phone has been secured in its Yondr pouch.

Yes. You may use your phone to purchase concessions before the performance begins.

If you plan to purchase concessions during intermission, we recommend bringing a physical payment method or pre-purchasing your order before the show.

Yes. We encourage you to take photos in the lobby and at our photo opportunities before the performance begins.

Once you enter the auditorium and your phone is secured in a Yondr pouch, photography, video recording, and phone use are not permitted until after the performance. This allows patrons to share the experience on social media while protecting the performance itself.

You may use your phone before entering the auditorium. Once you enter, your phone will be secured in a Yondr pouch.

Your pouch will be unlocked immediately following the performance. If you need to access your phone during the performance or at intermission, simply exit the building and a member of our Front of House team will unlock your pouch. You may have it re-secured before returning to the theatre.

We understand that a phone-free experience may not be for everyone. This policy is an essential part of the artistic experience for LIBERATION and is required for all audience members.

If you have questions, please contact our Box Office in advance.

No. The phone-free policy for LIBERATION was clearly communicated at the time tickets went on sale and is a condition of attending the performance.

We encourage all patrons to review our phone-free policy before purchasing tickets. If you have questions about accessibility accommodations or how the Yondr process works, please contact our Box Office before your performance. Our team will be happy to assist you.

We are excited to share details regarding our upcoming theatre production, which offers our advanced students an opportunity to explore complex artistic, technical, and philosophical concepts guided by best practices in theatre education. To serve the visual tone and narrative mood of the performance, select actors will wear form-fitting, flesh-toned modesty garments designed to give a specific aesthetic appearance. Please rest assured that all performers remain fully covered, and at no time will there be any nudity. This creative choice has been handled with the utmost professional care to support our young artists in delivering a thoughtful and serious theatrical work.
